ANACAPA ISLAND
Small volcanic island with three narrow islets with a visitor's center in a former coast guard house.
Barely larger than Santa Barbara Island, this small volcanic island lies 28 km from the mainland. It is made up of three narrow islets, with most boats dropping off passengers on the East Anacapa side. East Anacapa features a lighthouse that can be reached on foot. A small Visitor Center has been set up in a former coastguard's house: here you'll find an exhibition on the resources of the area. Like its neighbors, Anacapa is served from the port of Ventura, but can also be reached from Oxnard.
