An impressive ceremonial complex with thirty-eight structures, its central pyramid is topped by a terrace.

With 38 structures spread over an area of 60,000m2, it is an extremely impressive ceremonial complex. At the center is its pyramid, 35 meters high, whose top is covered by a simple terrace. Its first construction dates back to the Pre-Classic period, around the year 700. Irregular, the steps seem to be made for giants, whereas we know from the study of Mayan skeletons that they rarely exceeded 1.60 meters. Around stand other structures less imposing by the size, but whose whole is seizing.

A truly exceptional site! not too modified by mass tourism! you feel to get lost in the jungle some time! you can see coatis, howler monkeys, and the whole site is impressive!
