PLAZA OESTE
A square behind Templo II, lined with numerous remains and home to some interesting stelae and small altars.
When standing in the Gran Plaza, the Plaza Oeste is located just behind Templo II, slightly below. Although it is bordered by many remains, none of them are in a good state of conservation or have been restored. Nevertheless, there are some interesting steles and small altars. Above all, the square opens, in the south, on one of the major monuments of Tikal, the Templo III. Apart from that, one can quickly go there to quench one's thirst and take a break, since it shelters a small rest area.
