Hop on a combi to Olleros. From here, head up the valley to 4000 m (approx. 5h walk) to set up your first camp. The following day, continue up the valley to cross a pass at 4700 m, and set up camp at 4400 m. The following day, continue down the valley to Chavín. This is the most beautiful part of the descent. You can see the change in vegetation as you descend, and the evolution of human living conditions as you climb. It can also be done the other way round.
