Talara airport, named after Air Force Captain Víctor Montes Arias, has become the shortest route from Lima to the beaches of Los Órganos and Máncora. For the time being, Latam (www.latamairlines.com) is the only airline to serve it, with 2 or 3 daily flights. The airport is 1h30 from Máncora, compared with 2h15 from Tumbes and over 3h from Piura. It's best to ask your accommodation for a transport service, which costs around S/100-150.
