It dates from 1927. Perched on the rocky point of Ponta do Castelo, it is one of the most beautiful lighthouses of the Azores and one of the few that can be visited. Inside you will find very precise explanations about its functioning and the crucial role of these buildings for the sailors, but also a series of objects evoking the life of the lighthouse keepers. The outdoor terrace and the view from the top of the dome offer a breathtaking 360-degree panorama of the ocean, the old whaling port below, the vineyards on the hillside and the cliff.
