An ideal picnic spot in a densely wooded forest reserve at Serra de Santa Barbara.
In the heart of a densely wooded forest reserve, lies peacefully (often in fog and silence) the beautiful Lagoa de Falca, fed by a stream that descends from the Serra de Santa Bárbara. A beautiful stretch of water that is actually called "Lagoa das Patas" because of the colony of ducks that quack there, amidst the water lilies. Sometimes you can also see geese, starlings, blackbirds or sparrows. This is an ideal picnic spot where there are even a few tables sheltered under a kiosk and barbecues available free of charge (don't forget to save a few pieces of bread for your new feathered friends) which delight Azorean families every weekend.
