MUSEU FRANCISCO DE LACERDA
Museum with exhibitions dedicated to the emigration of Azoreans to America and to Francisco de Lacerda in Calheta.
Francisco de Lacerda (1869-1934), a musician and composer from Ribeira Seca, gave his name to the Calheta Museum in 2008. The first floor features a bookshop and temporary exhibitions. Upstairs, there are two brief exhibitions: one dedicated to the emigration of Azoreans to America in the 19th and 20th centuries, and the other to Francisco de Lacerda, illustrated with some of his personal effects. Allow 30 to 45 minutes for the visit.
