PEOPLE'S HALL
Built in 1936, the Hall of the People hosted the political rallies of the Chinese Communist Party in 1959 and 1970. It was here, for example, that the exclusion of Marshal Peng Dehuai or the political career of Lin Biao was adopted following the refusal of participants to vote on the establishment of the Resident Post of the People's Republic. From this historic place, there is little left today, except the exhibition of photographs by Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and other members of the Party taken at these summit meetings. So we will be going there especially for the particular atmosphere that exists there.
