Between carnival and wine festival, it is the Saturday of March that Châtillon-sur-Seine holds this unique event in France.
Between traditional festival and great carnival, this parade (whose genesis goes back to the5th century, when cauldrons were beaten to chase away the winter) takes place every year on the3rd Saturday of March. It celebrates the arrival of spring of course, but also the Crémant de Bourgogne which is the pride of Châtillonnais. A parade of floats during which some 500 cauldrons and cans are waved frantically. Every year, about 5 000 visitors are expected.
