VOLCÁN UTURUNCU
The Uturuncu volcano, still active, sometimes allows to see fumaroles and frequent earthquakes are recorded there
The ascent of the Uturuncu volcano (6,008 m) does not present any particular technical difficulty; in general there is no snow up to the summit. Still active, fumaroles can sometimes be seen and frequent (but weak) earthquakes are recorded. Its ascent can be done in one day and is relatively easy because an old mining road leads to 5 600 m, one of the highest roads in the world! The most complicated part will be to get used to the altitude and the strong and fresh winds, very common.
