Since 1994, the Walnut Avenue Cafe has been a Santa Cruz institution, especially for its famous breakfast and weekend brunches. Locals flock there to get a coffee to go or to taste the nine-grain pancakes . The various omelets and eggs Benedict are also frighteningly good. A sweet mix of flavors between Mexico and California. The interior is relaxing and the terrace is large and sunny. A nice address, in the heart of the city, for brunch lovers. Beware of the crowds on weekends.

Nice vegetarian brunch options, amazing grilled veggie sammy. I wish they had French fries though.

A gem! Thoughtful service, and delicious food. The eggs benedict is spectacular, so are the waffles. We appreciated the atmosphere. We could easily chat, and the packed room provided a nice background chatter compared to other places where you have to scream when it’s busy. Reasonable prices too.

This was such a lovely treat, very cute small town diner vibes. I got the ahi tuna Benedict which was so good! The eggs were perfectly poached and next time I'll ask them to make the potatoes a little extra crispy. My partner originally ordered the chilaquiles, which were not traditional in anyway, but we were able to get the French toast instead which was absolutely delicious! The service was amazing and the coffee selection was a nice treat, highly recommend.

When our Sensei comes to town we always take her here for breakfast. We get up early to make sure we can get a table with no wait.
