The only medieval building in Sondrio to have survived intact.

The Castel Masegra is the only medieval building in the town to have survived intact. It has undergone numerous alterations over the centuries and was in turn a stately home, a garrison headquarters and an agricultural warehouse. Today it houses a museum that tells the story of Sondrio and its region during the three centuries of Graubünden rule (1512-1797). Not to be missed is the camera picta in the tower-domitory, decorated with frescoes on the theme of Roland furious.
