FOZ DE LUMBIER
Narrow gorge with 150 m high walls, classified as a nature reserve in Lumbier, offering a spectacular landscape
It is a narrow gorge dug by the Irati River and classified as a nature reserve. Its vertical walls can reach a height of up to 150 metres. This spectacular landscape, home to vultures, can be explored along a 1.3 km path that runs along the river at the foot of cliffs that announce the foothills of the eastern Pyrenees of Navarre. You will certainly see the remains of a bridge that is said to have been built with the help of the devil, as well as two tunnels once used by Spain's first electric train, the Irati.
