CHURCH OF SANTA MARÍA DE LA PISCINA
Church located halfway between San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Peciña, a complete example of Romanesque art in La Rioja.
Halfway between San Vicente de la Sonsierra and Peciña, this small, isolated Roman chapel dominates the Ebro Valley. Built in the middle of the 12th century, it is the most complete and best preserved example of Romanesque art in La Rioja. The church has not undergone any later additions, except for the coat of arms of La Divisa, installed above the south portal around 1537. Nearby there is a necropolis and a hamlet with semi-arid dwellings.
