NOTRE-DAME CHURCH (VOR FRUE KIRKE)
Church built in 1170 by Esbern Snare, distinguished by its central tower flanked by four smaller towers.
A church with five towers, no less, built in 1170 by Esbern Snare, the brother of Bishop Absalon, the founder of Copenhagen. Its history can be linked to the construction of a castle. The Church of Our Lady has survived without too much damage. The shape of the church is unique in Denmark and probably in Europe, with a central tower flanked by four smaller, very slender towers with high roofs, all built of red brick.
