NYBORG CASTLE
Surrounded by gardens and fortification remains, this castle was a royal residence for part of the Middle Ages.
This castle was at the center of a strategic fortress that defended the region in the late 12th century. A royal residence for part of the Middle Ages, one of the towers and an original wing remain. Surrounded by water, a garden and the remains of the fortifications, it is surrounded by beautiful half-timbered houses. Inside you can visit the old banquet hall where the Danish Parliament used to meet. By the way, it was here that the first constitution of Denmark was written by Eric V in 1282. Do not miss the visit of the mayor's farm (Borgmestergården).
