MODERN GALLERY
Gallery founded in 1963 in Silkeborg, bringing together CoBrA works, a movement initiated by young artists and poets.
Created in 1963, this gallery brings together works by CoBrA, a movement created after the Second World War in 1948. Young artists (Alechinsky, Asger Jorn) and poets reacted to the quarrel between Abstraction and Figuration. Coming from several northern cities, they created their name, an acronym between Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam... But it is also a gallery (one of the largest in Scandinavia, 1,000 square meters!) that takes the risk of exhibiting and trying to sell the works of young Danish or foreign artists. A reference in contemporary art.
