Every year from the first weekend of January, the small town welcomes for 10 days this celebrated celebration of Gaucho culture. Thousands of spectators come to watch impressive equestrian performances, a kind of rodeo on completely torn mounts… Although the festival is considered the most popular in Argentina in this category, many animal welfare associations denounce the abuse of horses. In recent years, horses have been victims of cardiac arrest (certainly caused by stress and exhaustion) and others died during transport transfers.
