Agricultural production center with a remarkable system and a colonial Baroque church, now privately owned

This very important agricultural production centre was built on the indigenous lands of Calabalumba la Vieja. The Jesuits set up underground pipes to bring water from Ongamira, several kilometres away, a remarkable system. The church, of colonial baroque style, was completed in 1754. Today it is a private property (Don Francisco Antonio Díaz bought it after the expulsion of the Order in 1767 and his family still owns it), and you can't visit it all (about sixty rooms are occupied).
