Legendary land on National Route 40, an interesting reference point for observing a beautiful colony of Magellanic penguins
This legendary land is an interesting reference point to come and observe a beautiful colony of Magellanic penguins. The trip is also worth the detour from a purely symbolic point of view: it is the southernmost continental point of the American continent and is the zero kilometre of the national road 40 (ruta 40). It was also here that the ancient city of Nombre de Jesús was erected, the first foundation of Patagonia, established in 1584 and then quickly abandoned (the living conditions being far too extreme).
