A temple founded in 866 by the monk Jogu Daesa, housing a statue of Buddha cast in gold, the Euiseongak sanctuary is a must-see.
It was founded in 866 by the monk Jogu Daesa who gave it the pretty name of "jewel". For the Buddha statue in the temple was cast from gold found a little further on. Among the temple buildings, the one that attracts the most attention is the Euiseongak Shrine, dedicated to the soldier monk Yeonggyu Daesa. He is remembered for having fought valiantly against the Japanese during the Imjin War (1592-1598). There is also a thousand year old ginkgo here (natural monument). This temple is located near the 12 waterfalls.
