SETU MUSEUM
In the museum you will discover a farm architecture of the th century. At the Russian border is the territory of the Setu people (Setumaa), which extends around the town of Petchora, Russia, and on the Estonian side, the towns of Värska, Voporzova, Tonja and Saatse. This region is the poorest in Estonia. The Setu people - Russian-Estonian mixed culture and Orthodox Religion, independent between 1920 and 1940, speaking a different dialect of Estonian - is known in the country for its groups of folk singers, specialists in improvisation. The museum is in fact a fully furnished farmhouse as in the th century with the specificities linked to tradition and the people of Setu.
