IGLESIA DE LA ASUNCIÓN
Church built between the and centuries in Navarrete, housing one of the finest Baroque altarpieces in La Rioja.
Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, between 1553 and 1645 to be precise (if the construction took so long, it was due to budget problems), this church with three naves covered with cross vaults is a very fine example of Renaissance architecture specific to La Rioja. The main attraction of this temple is its interior, which houses one of the most beautiful Baroque altarpieces in La Rioja. A work by Fernando de la Peña made between 1694 and 1698, and renovated by José de San Juan and Martín in 1713. A worthwhile stopover.
