The history of this beautifully proportioned Romanesque church dates back to the 11th century. Founded in 1066 by Doña Mayor, Countess of Castile, the church marks the peak of the Romanesque style in the province of Palencia. It is a three-nave construction with barrel vaults and double arches. Its facade is flanked by two circular towers that give the building a special appearance, as well as the 13th-century Gothic crucifix inside.
