IGLESIA DE SANTA MARIA LA BLANCA
Monumental church built in a transitional style between Romanesque and Gothic, built under the Templar order
The Templar order built this church in a transitional style between Romanesque and Gothic in the 12th-14th centuries. The White Virgin, sung by Alfonso X the Wise, can be found here. Its sumptuous south façade is decorated with sculptures of Christ Pantocrator, tetramorphs and apostles. Inside, the polychrome stone tombs of Don Felipe and his wife can be admired, as well as the magnificent Spanish-Flemish altarpiece that adorns the main altar.
