REFUGIO DE MANJARIN
Shelter installed in the only inhabited house of the village offering 35 places on mattresses on the ground
It is one of the most singular hostels on the Camino Francés. The refuge, located in the only inhabited house in the village, is run by Tomás Martínez, a former pilgrim. After feeling the call of the Knights Templar -as he says- during a stay in Ponferrada, Tomás decided to leave everything behind and to restore the old school in 1993 to turn it into a medieval-inspired hostel. It offers 35 places on mattresses on the floor, without showers or hot water. It is also possible to stop here just to rest a little by the fireplace.
