Opened in 2021, Baobab Fare is a celebration of the gastronomy and culture of East Africa, more specifically Burundi, the country of origin of Nadia Nijimbere and Hamissi Mamba, the refugee couple behind this address. Critically acclaimed both for their cuisine and their involvement in the community here and in Burundi, they prepare tasty specialties such as kuku, nyumbani and samaki. And you absolutely must try their coffee, whose beans (unsurprisingly) come from Burundi and are roasted in Detroit.
