GRAND TRUNK PUB
A few steps south of Campus Martius Park, this bar is named after the old railway that passed nearby (Grand Trunk Railroad), which owned the premises at the beginning of the 20th century. The place, built along the length, is magnificent, with its vaulted high plateaus, chandeliers, wooden mouldings, brick walls and long bar where both regulars and tourists come to rest. You can eat there from morning to night with a pub-type menu (brunch, sandwiches, burgers, sausage dishes, fish & chips, mac & cheese, etc.), sip a glass of spirits, but what attracts the crowds is the huge beer menu including several Michigan wines. In fact, every month, a different brewery is in the spotlight with several of its beers at the pumps. For those who love whisky and live music, visit The Whisky Parlor located just above the pub.
