GMRENCEN
Designed by architect John Portman, the GMRENCEN (also known as the GM Renaissance Center or RenCen) is a complex of seven interconnected skyscrapers located on the edge of the Detroit River. Easily recognizable, it even became one of the city's emblems. This is the location of General Motors'world headquarters and, in the tower of the centre, the Fairmont Marriott at the Renaissance Center is the 2nd highest skyscraper hotel in the western hemisphere. The GMRENCEN also houses offices, numerous restaurants and shops as well as another hotel, the Courtyard Detroit Downtown.
