DAVID STOTT BUILDING
Located in the Capitol Park Historic District, the David Stott Building was built in 1928-29 by the architectural firm Donaldson and Meier. It has 38 floors plus three underground, making it the 4th highest in downtown Detroit at its inauguration. In the Art Deco style, like many other buildings in the city, its design was strongly influenced by the Chicago Tribune Tower built by Eliel Saarinen in 1922. There are also several architectural details created by the sculptor Corrado Parducci. Left abandoned for several years, the building was bought by Bedrock in 2015 and has since undergone major restoration, which was completed in 2018.
