CASTELLO VISCONTEO
Impregnable fortress that today is a pile of ruins in Trezzo d'Adda.
This impregnable fortress is now only a pile of ruins. Built on a promontory that juts out over the river Adda, in a strategic defensive position, a bridge was used to reach it. The remains that can be seen belong to the building wanted by Bernabo Visconti, Lord of Milan in the 14th century, who died here imprisoned by his nephew. Today you can visit the castle tower, the only one still standing (which you can reach by climbing more than 200 steps!) and the underground tunnels where the dungeons were located.
