Twenty years after the death of Chef Bernard Loiseau, the City of Gastronomy is organizing a festival to pay tribute to him.
Twenty years after the death of the great Burgundian chef Bernard Loiseau, the City of Gastronomy is organizing a week-long festival to pay tribute to him. On the program: cooking competitions, culinary demonstrations, and master classes for young and old. An exhibition retracing Bernard Loiseau's career will also be presented during the festival.
Detailed program:
Monday, February 27: Bernard Loiseau culinary trophy for experienced chefs. Competitions from 8am to 5pm, prize-giving at 5:30pm.
Tuesday, February 28: demonstrations with Patrick Bertron, executive chef of the Bernard Loiseau group, and Xavier Jacquin, pastry chef of the restaurant La Côte d'Or**.
Wednesday, March1: chocolate master class for children with Lucile Vigilant, second pastry chef at the restaurant La Côte d'Or**.
Thursday, March 2: at 7:00 pm, master class by two of France's best workers: "Wine and cheese pairing" with Éric Goettelmann, executive head sommelier of the Bernard Loiseau group, accompanied by Ludovic Bisot, cheese ripener at Tout un Fromage (limited number of places available, upon reservation).
In the evening, four-hands gala dinner with Éric Pras at the Table des Climats (upon reservation, part of the proceeds will be donated to the association La Ligue).
Friday, March 3: from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm, cooking demonstrations with Jean-Bruno Gosse, chef of Loiseau des Ducs*.
6:30 pm, conference "Loiseau-Picasso" by Hiroshi Yamaguchi, chef at the Kitano Hotel in Kobe and Dr. Sakata (Japan), followed by the showing of a film by Mauro Colagreco at the Pathé cinema, Reinventing Mirazur, (free of charge, free access).
Saturday, March 4: at 11:00 am, official inauguration of the Bernard Loiseau Alley in the presence of officials and Dominique Loiseau, followed by a signing of his book.
Sunday, March 5: ephemeral boutique with a unique sale of vintage tableware from the restaurant La Côte d'Or**, in Saulieu.
