For more than 15 years, the City of Dijon has been organising the "Les Toqués du Goût" cooking competition, open to amateur chefs of all generations.
The principle? Each team, consisting of an adult and a person aged 8 to 18 (inhabitants of the towns in the conurbation participating in the "local health contract" programme), must prepare a complete and balanced meal: starter, main course and dessert for a family of 4 people on a (low) budget.
First step: each team sends to the town hall of Dijon (by post) an application file including: recipes and photos or sketches of the different dishes. The pre-selection committee (food professionals and dieticians) designates the six teams (maximum) that will participate in the final.
Second stage: The final takes place at the Palais des Expositions et des Congrès during the Dijon International and Gastronomic Fair in November. The lucky finalists prepare the meal on site in 2h30... including training! The jury judges the candidates according to different criteria: taste, nutritional quality, enhancement of know-how, promotion of local products, presentation of dishes.
The prizes: This competition is endowed with prizes offered by the City of Dijon. Each team receives one, but of course the winning team wins a prize of a higher value.
