Dijon's archaeological museum retraces daily life in Gallo-Roman times thanks to excavations at Mediolanum.

Housed in the main wing of the former Benedictine abbey of Saint-Bénigne, the permanent collections present a panorama of man's presence in Burgundy from prehistory to the Middle Ages, through the region's key sites: Dijon, Alesia, Les Bolards, the sources of the Seine and Mâlain. For children, new activities every season allow them to enter the fascinating world of archaeology at their own pace. This year's program includes numerous themed tours and the European Night of Museums on May 18 from 6pm to midnight!

Ancien cloître magnifiquement mis en valeur par une scénographie intelligente et attirante ! Et en musique ce dimanche matin ! ????

A truly awesome museum, with an extremely well planned layout starting from the earliest traces of civilization to Dukes of Burgundy era. The focus is on the Burgundy region of France, which makes it easier to concentrate on this one area. And it is free - you just need to tell the person at the reception where you are from. Absolutely well worth the visit. Expect to spend at least a couple of hours here.
