A garden much loved by the inhabitants of the Dukes' capital, featuring an arboretum with 170 species and 230 varieties of roses in Dijon
An oasis of coolness in the heart of the city, such is the Parc de l'Arquebuse, very popular with the inhabitants of the Dukes' capital. Located a few steps from the city center, it is a haven of peace that brings together several spaces to relax, stroll or cultivate. Created in 1771 by Bénigne Legouz, the Parc de l'Arquebuse covers 5 hectares and allows you to stroll among plant species from all over the world, including a 150-year-old Cedar of Lebanon, no less! Come and discover the arboretum with its 170 species, admire the rose garden and its 230 varieties of roses or simply take a walk. The flowerbeds present no less than 500 species of plants in flowerbeds. A signposting allows you to know the scientific names, and why not make an educational tour for all nature lovers. The plants are presented according to their possible uses: food, medicinal, ornamental, textile... This garden also invites you to discover the new path "From the Earth to the plate, between traditions and innovations" in direct link with the future International City of Gastronomy and Wine. Parents will appreciate the picnic areas and playgrounds to encourage outdoor activities with their children. To go further in the knowledge of nature and to widen its cultural field, this pretty park also shelters a planetarium and a natural history museum. An extraordinary garden, promoting curiosity and biodiversity.
