SQUARE DES DUCS
The Square des Ducs, a little jewel of greenery!
The Square des Ducs is just behind the Palace of the Dukes and States of Burgundy. This charming and tree-lined space would be the remnant of the animal garden, created especially for Marguerite de Flandres, the wife of Philip the Bold. In the 19th century, the square was transformed into an English garden. One can sit on one of its benches to read, as there is a box of books there. Since 2018, the whole area is pedestrianised. In the square, take the opportunity to admire the statue of Philippe le Bon, or the work Point de vue by Philippe Ramette.
