THE PARK'S WALKWAYS
Considered the most beautiful avenue in Dijon under Louis XIV.
Classified as a Historic Monument in 1938, the site of the allées du Parc is a very popular area for Dijon residents and tourists alike. The Allées du Parc stretch from Place Wilson to the magnificent Parc de la Colombière, which was built by the Prince de Condé in 1670. Considered the most beautiful avenue in the kingdom under Louis XIV, the Allées du Parc was at the time a festive gathering place. Even today, everyone remains captivated by the beauty of these tree-lined avenues, superbly tended lawns, flowers and stony paths. An association has been created to watch over their preservation, that is to say the place they have in the heart of Dijon. More than a kilometre of walks that everyone particularly likes to go jogging, rollerblading or teaching their children how to ride a bike. It is also the opportunity to daydream on a bench or take an invigorating walk while admiring the many original villas from different periods.
