SOBAEKSAN NATIONAL PARK
National Park is a secondary chain with several entrances, inviting hikers to discover its rich flora.
About 5 km from Danyang is one of the entrances to the park "Little White Mountain" as it is nicknamed. It is named as opposed to the Taebaeksan, the "Great White Mountain" which gave its name to the main South Korean mountain range. The Sobaeksan, designated as the 18th national park in 1987, is a secondary range that is not nearly as spectacular as the other, but it is still a great place to hike. The flora of this park is particularly rich, as the park's emblem, the royal azalea, shows.
