IÑAKUYU - PALACIO DE LAS VÍRGENES
Temple of the ñustas or Virgins of the Sun, Inca monument restored with traditional symbols of the temples including Andean crosses
The temple of the ñustas (the Virgins of the Sun, who were then sacrificed to Chinkana on the Island of the Sun), is a partially restored Inca monument. We find the traditional symbols of the temples with Andean crosses and trapezoidal doors. It would be a temple where the virgins of the sun were gathered to learn domestic work. They were then retained for human sacrifices or to become one of the wives of the Incas, present on the Isla del Sol.
