COFFEE MUSEUM
Imposing, handsome neoclassical building featuring a museum with an exhibition tracing the history of the coffee trade in Santos
Santos has created a coffee museum as a reminder of its importance. Imposing and beautiful neoclassical building, former headquarters of the Coffee Exchange. Created in 1922 (restored in 1998 for the opening of the museum), this exchange controlled the financial operations of the national coffee market. At the time, coffee was the country's main source of wealth, exported through the port of Santos. The exhibition traces the history of the coffee trade in Santos. It is a charming place to have a "petit noir" and take home a small package of Brazilian vintages.
