The club and city of Santos have dedicated a museum to the "king" of football, Edson Arantes do Nascimento, better known as "King" Pele. The Pele Museum traces the great moments of Brazilian football and the life of the athlete, particularly with Santos FC, whose shirt he wore for most of his career, between 1956 and 1975. For the passionate and the curious, this place allows to understand the genesis of the football legend. The museum is housed in the renovated Casaroes do Valongo colonial house.
