Château of the kings of Burgundy with gardens, it is said to have been home to Queen Brunehaut, and Queen Elizabeth II of England once stayed here.

Home to the kings of Burgundy, Château d'Époisses was first built in the 6th century. Many historical figures have lived here, such as Queen Brunehaut, or stayed here, including the Grand Condé, Chateaubriand and Queen Elizabeth II. Designed on a polygonal plan, the château was completely remodeled in modern times. Today, the main building is still very well preserved, as is the superb dovecote with its 3,000 niches. Époisses cheese tastings are organized for groups to combine culinary and historical heritage.
