Conveniently located on Karaganda's main street, this behemoth is indistinguishable from other Soviet hotels from the same period. Among the decrepit rooms, some have undergone salutary renovation, making them perfectly suitable for a stopover. The others can be negotiated (bathroom out of order or shared) if your budget is tighter. In any case, it's clean and well-kept, and the staff are always available. On the first floor, there's a bar-restaurant where you can enjoy breakfast and meals on the premises.
