In Hebrew, Haï Bar means "wild life". Here you'll find mainly deer and fallow deer, but also mountain gazelles and, among the birds, vultures, white-tailed eagles and Bonelli's eagles. Created in the 1960s to reintroduce and protect endangered wildlife from Israel's Mediterranean forests, Hai Bar Carmel is the counterpart of the Hai Bar Yotvata reserve in the south of the country, dedicated to desert animals.
