The Carmel Fire Monument is a memorial to the victims of the Mount Carmel forest fire of December 2, 2010. The large flame-shaped structure is located near Kibbutz Bei Oren, close to the road where the fire trapped a bus carrying prison cadets. They had been sent to evacuate prisoners from the hilltop prison. 38 people died in the vehicle, along with two firefighters and a volunteer who were following them. The monument was inaugurated in 2011.
