LA SOURCE DE LA COQUILLE
La source de la coquille, a place of atypical vegetation, including mountain species of flowers.
The source of the Coquille and its circus made up of scree slopes shelters atypical vegetation including species of flowers of a mountain character. You will find for example the yellow gentian, the mountain germandrée and the linear of the Alps. To get to the site, take the D901 (south) for 6 km, then turn left following the D16E for about 2 km. This picturesque site, listed and preserved since 1932, is equipped with information panels, a picnic area, sanitary facilities and a car park. It offers you a beautiful summary of the attractions of the Châtillonnais region. The spring is located on the territory of the village of Etalante, which is the commune of the Châtillonnais with the largest number of isolated farms, most of which date back to the 16th and 17th centuries. Far from the grey of the towns, this discovery trail of a little more than 1 km is proposed from the church path. In the Etalante sector, take the time to take a look at the wash houses. Most of them have been restored. This is the case of the very beautiful impluvium wash-house of Aignay-le-Duc, open to the rainwater that feeds the basin.
