SIMON BOLIVAR MUSEOA
Museum located on the edge of the Camino de Santiago, with collections dedicated to the history of Bizkaia
Inaugurated in 1983 for the bicentenary of Simón Bolívar's birth, this museum is located in the beautiful caserío of Errementarikua, on the road to Santiago de Compostela. Its collections are dedicated to the history of Bizkaia through the journey of a pilgrim during the Middle Ages, but above all to the figure of Simón Bolívar (1783-1830), whose family was originally from this small village. Nicknamed "El Libertador", this Venezuelan statesman was an emblematic figure of the emancipation of the Spanish colonies in South America at the beginning of the 19th century
