MONDOÑEDO CATHEDRAL
Cathedral with 3 naves declared National Monument with a diocesan museum with a superb baroque altarpiece
Declared a National Monument in 1902, Mondoñedo Cathedral has a three-aisle structure with a mixture of architectural styles. Of Romanesque origin (although its construction dates back to 1219), the cathedral's façade still has a portal of this style topped by a rose window and framed by two Baroque towers that were built in the 18th century. Inside, one can admire the superb baroque altarpiece which is integrated into a Romanesque heart. Its diocesan museum is one of the most important in Galicia.
