PARADOR DE VILALBA * * * *
Parador in the tower of a medieval castle with rooms in a medieval atmosphere, others in a stone building
The parador occupies the tower of a medieval castle, built in the 13th century on the ruins of a 9th century fortress. The tone is set as soon as you arrive, as the entrance is via a drawbridge. Only six rooms, with a medieval atmosphere, are truly installed in the tower; about forty others have been fitted out in a more recent stone building. The restaurant is on the ground floor of the tower and offers good local specialities, cooked with local products. Nice welcome.
